Attendance Policy

  • String players are allowed to miss two rehearsals per concert cycle but not the dress rehearsal. Please alert your stand partner and section leader if you will be absent.

  • For winds and brass, all players who will need to miss a rehearsal must let BSO personnel manager Jenn Forese know by Saturday afternoon, 2pm, the latest.

  • Jenn will bring in those who have sent emails and videos so they can have a chance to sit in the ensemble when a sub is needed, for the time being

  • If a wind/brass player requires a sub, they are to check with Jenn first to see if there is a prospective player who is available to sub before getting their own player.

  • Jenn must also be alerted if players will be late to a rehearsal so she can let the conductor know.

  • If a wind or brass player who must miss a rehearsal is unable to inform Jenn in a timely fashion thrice, they will be asked to sit out for the next concert cycle.

  • It is imperative that all players attend the dress rehearsal.

  • All core winds/brass players (the "regulars”) are expected to pay their dues.

  • Jenn will organize the attendance weekly via spreadsheet/Google form to which the Board and section leaders can have access.

    • String section leaders can take attendance and Jenn will sort through it the next day.

    • Players who are frequently absent will be asked to return to us when their schedule is a bit more accommodating.
