About the Concert
Two majestic Fifths meet in one program as the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra brings together Beethoven's commanding Fifth Piano Concerto and Tchaikovsky's deeply felt Fifth Symphony. Pianist William Wolfram joins conductor Claire Lewis for a concerto balancing grandeur, lyricism, and brilliant virtuosity. Tchaikovsky's symphony traces a powerful path through shadow, tenderness, and surging resolve. Together, the works fill the Brooklyn Museum with memorable melodies and the full force of the orchestra.

About the Conductor
Claire Lewis is a New York City-based conductor whose recent work includes fellowships with The Dallas Opera, the Aspen Music Festival and School, the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and the Richmond Symphony. After making her conducting debut at Carnegie Hall at age nineteen, she has led orchestras including the Orchestre Métropolitain, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, and National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra. She earned a Master of Music in orchestral conducting from the Peabody Institute.
About the Soloist
American pianist William Wolfram is known as a versatile concerto soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician with a particular affinity for Liszt, Beethoven, and twentieth-century American music. A medalist at the William Kapell, Naumburg, and Tchaikovsky competitions, he has performed with leading orchestras across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Wolfram is a member of the piano faculty at the Manhattan School of Music and a Yamaha artist.
