Violin | February 21, 2027: Painted Soundscapes

Rising young violinist Dylan Hamme was winner of Juilliard’s 2024 Ligeti Violin Concerto Competition and performed as soloist at Alice Tully Hall with Juilliard Orchestra and conductor Jeffrey Milarsky. In October 2025, he made his Carnegie Hall solo debut with conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos and the Senior Orchestra of NY as winner of the 2025 Waldo Mayo Violin Competition. He won third prize at the 2025 Joseph Bologne International Violin Competition held in Guadeloupe.

Dylan is pursuing his Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School as a student of Catherine Cho on full tuition scholarship, following the completion of his bachelor’s at Juilliard under Areta Zhulla. His other teachers and mentors include Scott Yoo, Ying Fu, Ray Iwazumi, and Amelia Gold. An avid chamber and orchestral musician, Dylan has guest performed with major ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Carnegie Hall's NYO-USA All Stars, and the North/South Consonance Ensemble, with which he also performed Max Lifchitz’s Violin Concerto "Intervencion" as soloist. This summer, he performed as a young artist at Festival Mozaic, performing chamber and orchestral music alongside major artists including Steven Copes, Robert deMaine, and Jenni Seo. Dylan has been a member of Juilliard’s Principal Pool for three years now, performing regularly as concertmaster of The Juilliard Orchestra, including for their February 2026 Carnegie Hall concert. 

Other recent chamber music appearances include an album of William Susman's music recorded alongside pianist Nicole Brancato; the Joyce Theater’s “Ballet Festival: Jerome Robbins,” performing Stravinsky “Concertino” alongside New York City Ballet dancers; "Encounters With Beauty" with the Leela Dance Collective at Livermore Valley Arts; and the 90th anniversary concert and livestreamed event: “Claiming Your Space: A Celebration of Black Music at Juilliard” - a Webby award nominee. He is incredibly excited to be performing with the Brooklyn Symphony in February.
