<image:title>Current Season - Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Faure, Sankey, and Dvorak - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>Recipient of the 2016-2018 Leonore Annenberg Arts Fellowship, cellist and conductor Nico Olarte-Hayes has given solo recitals at Lincoln Center and the Neue Galerie in New York City, in Memphis’ Artists Ascending Series and New York’s Young Musician’s Forum, and throughout the Netherlands and Japan. As cellist, he has played on Live From Lincoln Center (PBS) and The Kennedy Center Honors (CBS) in tribute to violinist Itzhak Perlman, a longtime mentor, and has collaborated frequently with Perlman, most notably in the grand opening gala concert of The Kennedy Center’s Family Theater. Other collaborations include performances with mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves in Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall, pianist Christopher O’Riley in Boston’s Jordan Hall, and violinist Ryu Goto in sold-out tours of Japan and the United States, broadcast on PBS, NPR, and Fuji TV, respectively. As conductor, Nico is the recipient of a Sir Georg Solti Foundation Career Assistance Award for 2023. He won First Prize in the Vincent C. LaGuardia Conducting Competition, and has served as Music Director of New York’s IconoClassic Opera and Harvard’s Dunster House Opera, leading fully staged productions of Massenet’s Werther and Britten’s Albert Herring. Nico has led the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Sofia Festival Orchestra, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic, Savaria Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Antonio Soler, and Salzburg Chamber Soloists as a conductor in numerous international workshops, including the Tanglewood Festival Conducting Seminar. In 2016, he led the New World Symphony in a workshop with Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas and served as cover conductor for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. A passionate educator, Nico recently served on the faculty of the Valissima Institute for young female conductors, and for a number of years has collaborated with Kenya’s Art of Music Foundation to bring music lessons to underserved students in Nairobi. As a teenager, Nico toured extensively as an ambassador for Midori and Friends, giving performances in New York’s public schools, and on the third anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, was asked by the City of New York to perform at “Ground Zero” for the official memorial on NBC. In recognition of his artistic contributions, Nico was awarded the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, given a Hispanic Heritage Youth Award, and honored by the Davidson Institute for Talent Development. Nico was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and began his musical studies with his mother at the age of three. He completed pre-college studies “with distinction” at The Juilliard School under cellists David Soyer and Harvey Shapiro, and studied for many years at the Perlman Music Program under Ronald Leonard. Nico graduated with honors from the Harvard/NEC Joint Program, simultaneously earning an A.B. in Physics from Harvard College, where he studied music with Robert Levin, and his M.M. from the New England Conservatory, where he studied with Laurence Lesser. While at Harvard, Nico coached numerous student groups, performed as soloist with the Bach Society Orchestra, and was Assistant Conductor of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra. He currently lives in New York, where he serves on the faculty of Juilliard’s Pre-College Division and the Perlman Music Program.</image:caption>

<image:title>Current Season - Opera Selections and Tchaikovsky Symphony 4 - Make it stand out</image:title>

In 2023, he was invited as guest conductor of the Met Gala with an orchestra comprised of musicians from some of the top orchestras in the New York area. The repertoire — honoring Karl Lagerfeld’s love of opera — was comprised of works by Puccini, Mozart, Delibes, Strauss, and Mahler. He has served as the interim Artistic Director of the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, Principal Conductor of the Ballet de Monterrey, Associate Conductor of Teatro Grattacielo, and Conductor at the Manhattan School of Music. Also, he is the Manager of Artistic Creative Partnerships of the GRAMMY®️-winning organization, Afro Latin Jazz Alliance, with whom he has collaborated on projects for Carnegie Hall Citywide, NY Philharmonic Bandwagon, and Lincoln Center, in New York, to create engaging programs for diverse audiences. In June 2023, the German record label Hänssler Classic will release the album Flute Concertos – Reinecke & Penderecki, where Felipe conducts soloist Krzysztof Kaczka and the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2024, he will release a recording as a producer with members of the Met Orchestra, featuring works by Schubert, also on the Hänssler Classic label. Operatic titles conducted include Falstaff and Il Trovatore (Verdi), La bohème (Puccini), Carmen (Bizet), L’amico Fritz (Mascagni), L’elisir d’amore (Donizetti), Don Giovanni (Mozart). Felipe has premiered more than twenty works by composers including the recent premiere of the work Fractured Nation by the multi-award winning composer Arturo O’Farrill, with the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, as well as guest conductor at the Texas New Music Festival. Felipe Tristán was featured in FORBES magazine in the section “Working Journal” by photographer Michael Fiedler. Among the orchestras he has conducted are Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz, Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Texas New Music Festival, New Amsterdam Symphony, Gwinnett Symphony, North Shore Symphony, Zhengzhou Symphony. In Mexico, he has conducted the main professional orchestras in Aguascalientes, Baja California, Chihuahua, Michoacán, Monterrey (UANL), Oaxaca, and Querétaro. He is the founder of the Monterrey Summer Opera Academy with the principal guest faculty, the iconic mezzo soprano, Dolora Zajick — and support from the Consejo para la Cultura y las Artes (CONARTE) and La Superior, in Mexico. Felipe Tristán is the first place winner in the 2019 Klangkraft Orchester Dirigierwettbewerbs competition, in Germany and first place in the 2018 International Conductors Workshop & Competition, in Atlanta, USA.</image:caption>

<image:title>Current Season - Rimsky Korsakov, Copland, and Brahms - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>David Bernard serves as Music Director of the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, Massapequa Philharmonic and the Eglevsky Ballet. He is an active guest conductor, appearing with the Brooklyn Symphony, the Dubuque (IA) Symphony, the Greenwich (CT) Symphony, Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Island Symphony, the Litha Symphony, the South Shore Symphony and ensembles from the Manhattan School of Music. Called “the Johnny Appleseed of Classical Music” by Long Island Weekly, Maestro Bernard has helped the arts thrive through his innovative approaches to audience and orchestra building as music director and guest conductor. As a conductor of ballet, David Bernard has worked with dancers from the Eglevsky Ballet, New York City Ballet, Boston Ballet and the Miami City Ballet companies, including Jared Angle, Tyler Angle, Santiago Castañeda, Ji Young Chae, Jeffrey Cirio, Sarah Gavilla, Miriam Miller and Unity Phelan. David Bernard is the founder and Director of InsideOut Concerts, Inc., a pioneer and innovator in the design, development and production of immersive classical music events, and is inventor of US Patent No. 11,673,070 entitled “Methods and Systems for Arranging Seats for Audience Members and Musicians.” Bernard’s work using these methods in concerts and events resulted in not only increased tickets sales, but also increased organic new audience acquisition. Bernard is the First Prize winner of The American Prize Orchestral Conducting Competition (professional division) 2019. In presenting this award, the panel of judges commented: “Conducting from memory, David Bernard exhibits remarkable skill and considerable elan in a vibrant reading of Stravinsky "Rite of Spring." Not content with a cool, furrowed-brow approach to this music, his interpretation is alive to the nuances of color and, indeed, the dramatic arc, of this legendary masterwork. His is a considerable achievement by any standard.” —The American Prize Competition Panel David Bernard’s critically acclaimed performances and recordings include Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at Carnegie Hall (“ taught and dramatic” -Superconductor) , Stravinsky’s "The Rite of Spring" at Lincoln Center (“transcendent...vivid...expertly choreographed” -LucidCulture), a complete cycle of Beethoven symphonies praised for its “intensity, spontaneity, propulsive rhythm, textural clarity, dynamic control, and well-judged phrasing” by Fanfare magazine, Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique Symphony (“parts emerge like newly scrubbed details in a restored painting. Bernard and his musicians frequently shed new and valuable light on a thrice-familiar standard” -Gramophone) and an album of Dvořák’s Late Symphonies (“David Bernard treats each of the symphonies with alert and respectful acuity. He trusts Dvořák’s metronome markings, often to surprising and exciting effect, and makes sure the narratives unfold with seamless assurance. Bernard shapes the score with fine control, savouring its tender and invigorating material minus mannerism or bluster.” -Gramophone) Devoted to the music of our own time, he has presented world premières of scores by Bruce Adolphe, Chris Caswell, John Mackey, Ted Rosenthal and Jake Runestad, and distinguished concert collaborators have included Anna Lee, Jeffrey Biegel, Carter Brey, David Chan, Catherine Cho, Adrian Daurov, Pedro Díaz, Edith Dowd, Stanley Drucker, Bart Feller, Zlatomir Fung, Ryu Goto, Whoopi Goldberg, Sirena Huang, Judith Ingolfsson, Yevgeny Kutik, Anna Lee, Jessica Lee, Kristin Lee, Maxim Lando, Daniela Liebman, Jon Manasse, Christopher Martin, Anthony McGill, Spencer Myer, Todd Phillips and Inbal Segev.</image:caption>
