Summer 2008 Reading Rehearsals

Every summer, the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra meets to read great works of the symphonic repertoire. It's a great way to have fun reading, meeting new players and socializing, without the pressure of having to get "everything right for the concert!"

New string players are welcome to show up and join in the fun. You should be a good reader, and your playing should be in fairly good shape, although the summer readings are perfect for limbering up if your playing is a bit "rusty." Interested wind and brass players should call Nick Armstrong at 718.952.0677.

We'll meet on seven Monday evenings during the summer from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at St. Ann's Church. If you're new to the orchestra, St. Ann's is at the corner of Montague and Clinton streets in Brooklyn Heights, and you enter the church about 100 feet down Montague Street. Just look for the people with instrument cases!
